PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: December 12, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Kildare Comics LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, purchase our products, or otherwise interact with us.
Who We Are
Kildare Comics is a small, independent comic book publishing company based in New York, USA.
Our website address is: https://kildarecomics.com.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It
We collect personal data to operate our website, fulfill orders, manage accounts, and engage with our community.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact Forms
We collect information submitted through contact forms for the purpose of responding to customer service inquiries, fulfilling requests (e.g., signing up for a newsletter or promotional emails), and generally communicating with you.
Fan Mail: We also provide a Fan Mail contact form to gauge the popularity and favorability of our hosted and published content.
- Data Collected: When submitting Fan Mail, we collect your name, sex, and age group to better understand the audience demographics for specific content.
- Data Use and Sharing: Fan Mail comments may be shared with the relevant content creators (writers, artists, etc.).
- Promotional Use: Fan Mail comments may be used in advertisements and promotional material only if you explicitly agree to this use by selecting the relevant option on the Fan Mail form.
Purchases and Transactions
When you purchase a comic book, merchandise, or a subscription from our online store, we collect personal data necessary to complete the transaction and ship your order. This data may include your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information. We do not store sensitive payment information (like full credit card numbers); this is processed securely by third-party payment processors.
Contests and Promotions
If you participate in any contests, sweepstakes, or promotions we host, we collect the information required for entry, such as your name, email address, and potentially a mailing address to deliver prizes. This information is used solely for the purpose of managing the promotion.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles from our social media feeds, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We use web analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to track and analyze traffic, site usage, and user behavior to help us improve our content and the overall user experience. This data is generally non-personal and anonymized, such as browser type, operating system, and pages visited.
Who We Share Your Data With
We share data with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate our business and provide services to you, including:
- Payment Processors: To securely handle payment transactions for purchases.
- Fulfillment & Shipping Partners: To print, package, and deliver physical products and merchandise.
- Analytics Providers: To help us understand website usage.
- Anti-Spam Services: To detect and prevent spam comments.

How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any) or make a purchase, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile or transaction history. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We retain transaction data for as long as required by tax and accounting laws.

What Automated Decision Making and/or Profiling We Do with User Data
Kildare Comics does not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on users.
Industry Regulatory Disclosure Requirements
As a small indie publisher operating primarily in the United States, we adhere to all applicable U.S. federal and New York state laws regarding privacy and data protection. This includes compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) as described above.
